Signing our lives away and fun in Dallas!

Get ready for lots of pictures!

On February 13th we got to meet a traveling notary at Starbucks in Lawton to sign all of our house closing loan documents in time to ship them to Washington for closing on the 20th! We were really excited and didn't feel the anxiety that seems to be the expectation when "signing your life away" for the first time. To be honest, we were more nervous about finding a restaurant to celebrate at that wouldn't ruin our diet afterward. ;)

The guy was nice and he put up with my analyzing every paper and making sure everything made sense...which was quite a feat with 50+ pages of information. Not to mention I don't trust anyone to do their job, especially when it comes to something this big! I apparently didn't drive him too crazy because he still agreed to take our picture after. ;)

Creepin' on the patient man ;)

We did it! :)
Fortunately because Mitch's training was delayed by weather, we were able to go visit our good family friends Mike and Paula in Dallas over Presidents Day Weekend. We were only about three hours or so from them, so it was a perfect long-weekend trip.

We were driving to Dallas on Valentine's Day and saw this in the sky :) We originally thought it only said "I <3 U" but then we saw the writing start again and the "J!" was added! So fun!

The boys had a new girlfriend ;) Sorry, Pickles!

After just seeing "Lone Survivor", we thought this was cool

We took a walk down to the Katy Trail in downtown Dallas. The trail goes for a long time and has multiple bars and restaurants along it. It is really nicely set up with separate sides for walkers vs bikers. We stopped for a beer at Ice House and loved it! There were tons of people with their dogs on the patio, too!

The next day we went with Mike and his friend Neil to go skeet shooting. Neither of us had ever been before, but we were super excited to try it out! We had a ton of fun and now have a new expensive hobby ;)

We had such a great time seeing a little bit of Dallas and getting to visit with Mike and Paula and the pups! Thanks so much for having us and we can't wait till you guys are able to come visit us!
